The founder and owner of BikeID website, Ray, has known me for a long time.
In contrast, I hadn’t until May 1st this year, when redjava, single, and I were attending the bike competition of Mt. Ta-Shiue in Taichung. I was solely recognized when waiting in the line for the proof of race completion. So my blog has earned me extra friendships, in an unexpected way.

Basically, his idea and website are to provide a platform for cyclists (or fan of some other outdoor sports), on which they share bike things and log personal training/biking data. The core principle and service they provide is a growing database of owned/named bikes. Through the site, a stolen bike will have a better visibility to be learned from visitors of BikeID, and hence have a greater opportunity to be retrieved.

I have become a guest of Ray, who invited me to a dinner tonight. He, who is a father of a 1-year-old, and a 10-year cyclist, looks just as energetic as a young big boy, as stated in the interview in the link above. His passions and thoughts are valuable. I am really honored to become one of his friends.

該是時候跳進來這塊玩玩了。

在我的腦袋中一直缺乏著web programming這塊的任何知識，而剛剛好這幾年又是web programming大盛時期，看我用的service就知道：google mail/calendar/map/notebook/groups/adsense/doc/reader... 每天生活沒有網路+google+瀏覽器就少了一半。（另一半是非電腦類的.. 我要說的是如果生活只有電腦這塊，那少了這些東西就少了全部了..XD）重點是為什麼會變成這樣？最近又有cloud computing這個詞出現... 所以我驚覺web programming的重要。

所以趁週一，阿君告訴我他的新公司檔掉gmail talk/MSN以及大多數的web msn之後，我就想要開始來玩了：寫個private chatroom，就架在我的server上吧！他的新公司總不可能隨便檔我的IP，外加monitor網路封包吧。SO.. 開始跳進來後，我發現這是有趣的世界，怎麼說呢？一句話：技術太多，選技術是踏進來的第一步！

比如來說，我最後選到Python + Django + YUI，有的歷程是這樣：

下面是今天連續停電幾次的紀錄，是UPS傳到我的terminal的。其中最長停了21分鐘，我的UPS救了我的電腦好多次..XD

自從8月買了UPS後，前幾次颱風共斷電兩次，都是瞬間斷又來，這次強颱比較誇張，這一個下午已經停電或斷電5次了... UPS是買對了..

這篇只是單純抱怨，看看就好。

某公司實作了一個線上報名系統，是xxxx的資訊系統訓練課程報名。厲害的是，這公司能連續讓我一週內接到十幾通各縣市機關承辦人員抱怨電話，不是不能連上，就是有使用問題。系統功能以及穩定性的低落，實在是一個資訊公司以及那位寫程式的先生的悲哀阿... 每次我去告知系統又掛掉的時候，他們總是有下列理由，不過因為我身份問題實在沒法多說什麼... 理由如下：

1. 不好意思，我們公司現在內部在調整防火牆設定，可能暫時無法連上，非常抱歉...
2. 非常抱歉，我們公司今天網路對外中斷，我們現在都無法上網，應該下午就會修好了...
3. 那台伺服器因為有其他公司小組在上面測試程式，可能暫時把資料庫關掉了，我馬上重開！等等正常後，會再通知您!
4. 阿！這樣喔...又不能連上了喔，我馬上處理...

技術層面上，我以非常貧乏的網路知識作以下歸納：

1. 語言上使用JSP+未知database系統，html上使用VBScript + Javascript
2. html上使用老舊的frame，很多老舊的tag，而且不知為何IE-only，所以只有IE可以正常使用...XD
3. OS用nmap -O猜到是89%機率為Windows XP SP2 ... 同台server似乎還有mail和ftp server
4. webserver用ab測到是Microsoft IIS 5.0

很悲哀，一間名稱為XX網路科技公司，竟然連個簡單的報名系統都搞不定，不單是軟體問題，我看硬體和伺服器管理上也是很大的問題。難道常接到一個替代役打去的報告網站又不能上去，他們連個辦法都沒有嘛？今天整整第五天... 昨天還特別打來說改了程式了....

繼續，該公司也是承辦我負責協助的業務的資訊網站的建置。我參與了一兩次的demo和問題討論，我只有一個感想：鳥。

順便繼續打槍：為何政府機關的資訊系統、後端網站維護系統，全部都是使用IE-only的技術阿？使用者介面不和善就算了，公務員順便養成重度依賴windows，以及被制約的網路、電腦使用行為。實在看的很心痛，卻無法改變什麼。公文系統、經費管理系統、網站... 唉... 若是要我當政府機關的資訊維護工作，給大家問問題、重灌電腦、問題解決的，給我月薪10萬我都不願意阿.... 悶....
